One of the clear positives of the item is that it compacts the rice so rigidly that you can just have rice without the wrapping typical of sushi. Certainly it is an efficient item and makes a good addition to any kitchen that finds sushi being prepared in it often. Clever idea really.

While all reviews on Amazon have given it very high ratings I decided to rate it lower simply because it seems just a bit expensive for what is ultimately a few pieces of plastic. Well designed plastic it may be, it just is not that complicated overall and it surprises me it costs $20. I suppose to be fair Tupperware in general costs roughly that much so perhaps I am being harsh on the product.

In short: it does what it does, if you need it buy it.
