Positives

This is one of those items you come across that really is just a quality item. To start with the object itself is made in Denmark and has a real sense of quality about it. The rubber on it helps protect the knife blade as well as the steel of the magnet. The magnets themselves have a nice stainless steel appearance that can be easily wiped over to clean. Basically if you want to store a dirty knife on the rack you can and just clean it later, which is certainly an appealing quality. The item is also very easy to install for basically anyone. As a result of all of these positive qualities the lowest score given to the item on Amazon is 4 out of 5.

Negatives

The first problem with the item is that it leaves the blades of the knives exposed. All this really means is that you have to be careful where you place it but this is not a major issue as most people tend to store their knives on a bench so you can just place it against the wall where the knife rack would have been.

The second issue with the item is that it is a bit expensive. The main reason it costs roughly $90 is because this particular version of it is all really high quality. However, a cheap version made in China rather than Denmark would probably cost under $20. I guess ultimately it is a choice about whether you want a quality item or not.

The short version is that it is a nice item that has a clear practical use in that you can put dirty knives on it and just clean the magnet later.
